Impact Culture Club: Music
Atlantic Classical Orchestra "Into the Night"
Guest Artist: Hina Khoung-Huu, violin
Night has always stirred the imagination—its mysteries, its dangers, its dreams. This Masterworks concert ventures into that twilight world, where stories come alive, shadows stretch, and music dances on the edge of sleep and storm.
Beginning with Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, a feverish tone poem of witches and dark rites, which was most famously used in Disney’s Fantasia, the piece is a whirlwind conjuring of the supernatural.
The night takes on a different hue in Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2. Rising star Hina Khuong-Huu, winner of the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition, brings her brilliance and depth to this haunting concerto.
The program concludes with music from Tchaikovsky’s ballet, Sleeping Beauty. The finale—the famous waltz—is matched only in popularity by the equally exquisite Swan Lake waltz, which is offered as an encore. These dances shimmer—even in the dark—and remind us that night is not just the realm of spirits and shadows, but of dreams and wonder.

Impact Book Club
Join us for a discussion on the bold spirit of Love and Ruin by Paula McLain.
In "Love and Ruin," Paula McLain delivers a sweeping portrayal of Martha Gellhorn, a fiercely independent writer who fought to step out from the shadow of her legendary husband, Ernest Hemingway. The novel begins in 1937, following Martha to the front lines of the Spanish Civil War. There, amidst the chaos of battle, she finds both her voice as a world-class war correspondent and a transformative, high-stakes romance with Hemingway.
As their relationship moves from the battlefields of Spain to the quiet hills of Cuba, the narrative shifts into a poignant exploration of the cost of ambition. Martha quickly realizes that being the muse to a literary giant threatens to erase her own identity. McLain masterfully captures the friction between two fiery egos, ultimately depicting Martha’s courageous choice to prioritize her own career and truth over a prestigious but suffocating marriage. It is a stirring tribute to a woman who refused to be a footnote in history,
This is an opportunity to dive deep into a book that inspires, challenges, and leaves a lasting impression. This Impact100 Martin member engagement series brings together women who enjoy reading books that make you think!

Impact100 Martin Nature Club - Blowing Rocks Preserve Tour & Nature Hike
A Call to Nature: Launching the Impact100 Martin Nature Club
At Impact100 Martin, we don't just vote for change—we step into the heart of it. Our next Nature Club excursion takes us to the jagged, breathtaking shores of Blowing Rocks Preserve.
This isn't just a hike; it’s an immersive experience where the power of the Atlantic meets the resilience of our limestone coast. As we walk the mangrove boardwalks and stand where the waves reach for the sky, we’re reminded of exactly why we protect this land. Join your fellow members for a morning of fresh air, photography, and the kind of deep-rooted connection that only happens when we leave the meeting room and head for the trail.
After six decades of protecting Florida’s great places, The Nature Conservancy considers Blowing Rocks Preserve one of its proudest achievements. This peaceful, barrier island sanctuary is a well-known model for large-scale, native coastal habitat restoration. The natural features found here are disappearing fast from many Florida islands, and a number of endangered plants and animals call this special place home—including rare loggerhead, green, and leatherback sea turtles. The preserve was named for its rocky Anastasia limestone shoreline—the largest on the Atlantic coast. At high tide, when the sea is rough, seas break against the rocks and force plumes of saltwater up to 50 feet skyward. It’s an impressive sight.
To make the most of your morning, please bring your essential gear: cameras, water, and sunscreen. $5 per person donation on site
